PANTHENOL: SO GOOD FOR NATURAL HAIR

PANTHENOL: SO GOOD FOR NATURAL HAIR

Let's be honest with ourselves. I will admit that I scan the back of every hair product to check out the ingredients. If you're like me, you will have came across the word "panthenol" on the ingredient list of your favorite products. So, what in the heck is that?

Panthenol is a derivative of vitamin B5 also known as pro-vitamin B5. It is small enough to penetrate through the cuticle of the hair. It is highly hygroscopic chemical, which means it acts as a humectant attracting water to itself. It helps the hair retain moisture in the cortex and on the surface. It coats and seals in moisture. It strengthens the hair shaft as well as thickens the strands. It also imparts shine and reduces split ends.

Vitamin B5 also known as Pantothenic acid (occurs naturally in Vanilla Oil). Pantothenic Acid is a water-soluble vitamin that occurs organically and is found in all living organisms. It’s one of the most essential vitamins for our body to function properly.

Is It Safe For You And Your Hair?

Actually, it’s safe and absolutely amazing for you, your hair and even your skin!

Panthenol is not dangerous. The FDA and European Commission has no cosmetic restriction on this ingredient, and it is considered non-toxic. So, there is nothing to be scared about when you use products with Panthenol – Only benefits that are mind blowing!

What Are It's Benefits For Natural Hair?

  • Long-Lasting Moisture. Panthenol is well-known for working as an incredible moisturizing agent. Panthenol is a humectant, which means it is a substance used to maintain moisture – a wetting property. When applied to hair and scalp, it penetrates moisture into lower skin layers and deep into each hair strand and hair shaft. It prevents breakage caused from harsh brushing and styling by protecting hair fibers.

  • Provides Hair with Volume and Hold. Panthenol has an amazing ability of bonding to the hair, thus making each hair strand stronger, softer and more persistent.

  • Keeps Hair Hydrated. Panthenol binds and holds water molecules. In other words, it pulls water from the air and thereby, keeps water in the hair and scalp. This superpower results in more elasticity, hydration and moisture given to hair and scalp.

You can find the amazing vitamin B5 in our products. Pantothenic acid (occurs naturally in Vanilla Oil) is Our Hero ingredient.

Don’t hesitate to ask in the comments if you have any questions regarding Panthenol/Pantothenic Acid/Vitamin B5. Peace and Blessings!
